New and old cravings crawl across nerves.

“O God, help!”

The body hungers for porn;

Burning feelings of hell; desperation, loneliness, shame.

The body hungers for porn.

The lower abdomen radiates; solar plexus aches; chest hurts.

The body hungers for porn.

Arms tighten; hands shake; mouse clicks.

My Morning Meditation

Psalm 141: 1 I cry out to You;
Make haste to me!
Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.

Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Do not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice wicked works
With men who work iniquity;
And do not let me eat of their delicacies (Psalm 141:1-4, 1982, NIV).

God’s Covenant of Peace

I got out of bed, and I felt anxiety.  Being ashamed about my past, I remembered how I lusted after forbidden things, disgusting images and behavior.

I went to my devotional bible and read from Isaiah. I could not find peace until I read the following passage in Isaiah.

“Do not fear, for you will no be ashamed;

Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame;

For you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach … but with great mercies will I gather you. …

But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you. …

But my kindness shall not depart from you,

Nor shall my covenant of peace be removed” (NKJV, 2011, Isaiah 54:4, 7, 8, & 19).

When I turn to Him for a loving relationship, I now know that God has made a covenant of peace with me .  Even with the years that I have taken for recovery from pornography addiction, the Lord still has compassion on me.

Devotionals: Why Do I Feel So Overwhelmed?

Feeling Overwhelmed

How to Rid Yourself of Overwhelmed Feelings

Devotionals for Men and Women;

These Devotions Fill Men and Women with Peace.

“Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Proverbs 4:20-23

My son and daughter, attend to my words; incline your ear unto my sayings. Let them not leave your sight; keep my sayings in the midst of your heart.

For they are life unto you who find them, and health to your whole body.

Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are
the issues of life. (paraphrase, modern English)

Lesson: The issues of life that flow out of your heart are emotions. Empowering emotions feed your spirit and heals your body.

Power: Focus: Decide what the most important things for you to focus on.

Strength: Clarity: Write down all the things that are most important to you.

Shadow: Overwhelmed, Overloaded, Helplessness, Depression, Grief, Stress; you tend to feel these limiting emotions when you lose focus on what matters most to you.

To Answer the question: Why do I feel so overwhelmed?

Not Keeping Your Heart Focused on What Matters Most to You.

However, the reason you may feel overwhelmed is that you may be trying to do to many things at once.

Prioritize: focus only on one thing at a time and make sure what you do reinforces the things most important to you.

Note: If you start to feel overwhelmed, check your thoughts. Are you thinking overwhelming thoughts. Example: thinking about all you have to do.

Change the meaning ( your thoughts): New Belief: All I can do is all I can do and all I can do is good enough.

To Your Peace,
