Grief may be joy misunderstood;
Only the Good discerns the good.
–Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Have you noticed yet that giving up your porn addiction you felt a loss?
I remembered a time when I deleted all porn sites from my favorites’ list.
The feelings were similar to grieving for a dead friend, especially, one that comforted me whenever I needed it. From time to time I shed tears.
The only problem was that when I buried my friend, he was still alive. I didn’t even lock him in a coffin and vault. He resurrected back into my life.
I went through 40 years of mixed feelings for pornography; dying and living.
In 2014, I was able to stay sober the entire year with only two minor slips (measured in seconds).
Now, I have a new friend, freedom.
From time to time, I shed tears for this feeling.
Three Lessons of Losing an Addiction (a Haiku Poem)
Grieve the loss of porn;
Resurrecting it once more;
Grief joy understood.

Psalm 20:1, 2
The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; (King James Version, public domain)
